Laser Treatment

Most people have heard of LASIK laser technology to eliminate the need for glasses or contacts. But did you know that lasers are now being used to treat such eye diseases and conditions as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration?

Larry R. Lawrence, MD, and Eric J. Poulsen, MD, are board-certified eye physicians and surgeons who specialize in the most advanced techniques for treating various eye diseases and conditions in people of all ages:

Argon Laser

Our doctors use this type of laser to treat glaucoma and diabetic eye problems. It can also be used to treat macular degeneration, which was considered untreatable not too long ago.

YAG Laser

We use this laser technology in the treatment of after-cataract membranes and some types of glaucoma.

CO2 Laser

This variation on the YAG laser is used mainly for cosmetic eyecare such as facial skin resurfacing, wrinkle and sunspot reduction, facial hair removal and collagen stimulation in the skin. We often use this technology in conjunction with blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) procedures to give your eyelids and skin a more youthful look.

Excimer Lasers

The latest in state-of-the-art LASIK and PRK procedures are performed using this technology to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Our doctors use both the VISX S4 Active Trak and Ladar Vision excimer laser platforms. These lasers continuously track the laser treatments to ensure perfect alignment and create the best possible vision results. We also offer CustomVue™ wavefront technology for the best possible results.

Diode Laser

This laser is used for performing endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation, or ECP - a new procedure for treating glaucoma.
